Military Appreciation and Giving Back to Veterans on Veterans Day

The following organizations are making a special effort to recognize Veterans Day by donating a portion of their sales to veteran causes or featuring special programs that give back to veterans and their families during November 2023 and, in some cases, beyond.

Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant is again partnering with the Honor Flight Network, a national nonprofit that provides veterans with free trips to national memorials and monuments in Washington, D.C. dedicated to honoring their service and sacrifice. At all Abuelo’s locations, the restaurant chain will donate $1 to Honor Flight for each chile con queso and queso diablo appetizer sold in-store or online from November 6-11, 2023.

bb.q Chicken will donate a portion of sales on November 11, 2023, to Honor Flight Network, which flies U.S. veterans, including those who served in Korea, to the memorials in Washington, D.C., at no charge.

The Bojangles chicken restaurant chain in 2023 raised $563,311 for Folds of Honor, a not-for-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to families of fallen or disabled service members and first responders. BUBS Naturals, a supplement manufacturer, is donating 100% of its profits from sales on Veteran’s Day to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, established to help the Special Operations community ease the transition from military to civilian work. Doherty was a Navy SEAL killed in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012.

The Casey’s convenience store chain is collecting donations from customers through November 28, 2023, to benefit two organizations that help military veterans and their families: Hope For The Warriors (HOPE) and Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.

During the month of November, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will collect donations from customers for Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military. Freddy's Folds of Honor promotion details

Through November 12, 2023, O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar is collecting donations of $5 and $10 from customers to benefit The Folded Flag Foundation, in exchange for a coupon for $5 or $15 off their next in-store meal, respectively. The foundation provides educational scholarships and support grants for families of fallen service members.

The Pilot Company is collecting donations from customers of participating Pilot, Flying J or One9 Fuel Network travel centers from October 23 through November 12, 2023, for the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans transition to successful civilian careers. The company aims to raise $1 million and will match donations up to $100,000 to help the endowment place more than 1,600 service members and their families into successful careers.

PureTalk, a nationwide cell phone service provider, will contribute a portion of every new order to relieve $10 million in debt for military veterans. The company also contributes to organizations that help military members and veterans. PureTalk veteran debt relief details

Regal will donate $1 from each popcorn sale on Saturday, November 11, 2023, to the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization that helps veterans and their families through unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.

Participating Sport Clips Haircuts locations will donate $2 from every hair care service provided on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, to support the VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" program. The goal is to raise $1.7 million for the scholarships, which are awarded to qualified veterans across all branches by sending the funds directly to the college or technical school of their choice. For Veterans Day 2023, Starbucks is donating $100,000 each to Team Red, White & Blue and Travis Manion Foundation to support the veteran community. Team Red, White & Blue offers events, training and programming to help veterans build healthy lifestyles. The Travis Manion Foundation focuses on investing in the mental health and well-being of veterans and families of the fallen.

The Vitamin Shoppe and Team Red, White & Blue are teaming up for Veteran’s Day 2023 to host the 10th annual WOD for Warriors, taking place in over 100 locations across the country. Veterans, and their supporters, will take part in a series of Workout of the Day functional fitness exercises, each symbolizing the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the end of World War I. Walmart is celebrating the military community with a star-studded concert for veterans and their families on Saturday, November 11, 2023, that will highlight donations of up to $4 million for veteran organizations from Walmart, its customers, and the Walmart Foundation. Held at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa, the first Heroes & Headliners concert features Chris Stapleton, H.E.R. and Imagine Dragons with Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek serving as emcees. The sold-out concert will be livestreamed at Walmart.com/Live and on Facebook, X (Twitter) and YouTube.
