Washington, D.C., and Environs

Arlington, Virginia: National Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery

In its 71st year in 2024, the annual Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery begins at 11:11 a.m. each November 11. The ceremony commences with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (limited to official participants only). The observance continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with speeches and a parade of colors by veterans organizations. World War II Memorial

Commemorate Veterans Day at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., and pay tribute to the more than 16 million men and women who served with the U.S. armed forces during WWII. Vietnam Veterans Memorial: 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will mark the 40th anniversary of the “Three Servicemen” statue and the 20th anniversary of the In Memory plaque on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. at its annual Veterans Day at The Wall ceremony. Korean War Veterans Memorial

New York City

The nation's largest Veterans Day event, the New York City Veterans Day Parade hosted by the United War Veterans Council, will return on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, for its 105th year with an estimated 20,000 participants from across the U.S. marching up Fifth Avenue.The Marine Corps is this year's featured service for the event, which will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. between 26th and 48th streets in Manhattan. Stand Up for Heroes, a production of the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival, returns at 8 p.m. on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Lincoln Center. This year’s performers include Jim Gaffigan, Norah Jones, DJ Questlove, Marc Normand, Jon Stewart, Patti Scialfa, Jerry Seinfeld and Bruce Springsteen, with more to be announced. The Town of Elberta Veterans Day Observation Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Alaska

Arizona

The city of Prescott’s 2024 Veterans Day Parade will be held downtown on Monday, November 11, 2024. Opening ceremonies will take place at 10:30am on the stage at the intersection of Cortez St. and Union St., with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. This year’s parade theme is Protecting Our Country, Serving Our Communities, and Honoring Our Veteran First Responders. Arkansas

The Downtown Hot Springs Veterans Day Parade will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2024.

In Fort Smith, the 2024 Regional Veterans Day Parade & Celebration will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Chaffee Crossing Historic District. U.S. Senator John Boozman has declared this as Arkansas' largest Veterans Day celebration. The Veteran Honors Ceremony begins at 10 a.m., and the parade begins at noon. California

The California's Veterans Day Ceremony, held at the California State Capitol in Sacramento, features a parade beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, and progressing through streets surrounding the Capitol building. There will also be distinguished guest speakers who represent both military veterans and government officials. This year’s theme is mental health awareness. The Connecticut Veterans Day Race in Coventry will take place Nov. 2, 2024.

Louisiana

The Greater New Orleans Regional Veterans Day Festival/Stand Down is a VA-recognized Veterans Day observance for 2024. Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day events during which VA staff and volunteers provide food, clothing and health screenings to homeless and at-risk veterans. Maryland

The Baltimore City Veterans Day Parade steps off at noon Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Washington Monument, ending at War Memorial Plaza. The city of Lexington will celebrate and honor members of the U.S. military with events on Monday, November 11, 2024. There will be a breakfast, car parade, Salute to Veterans Slideshow and an opportunity for eterans and active-duty members to have their photos taken with their service branch flag. Texas

The Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade takes place Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at Fair Park following a massing of the colors and the 11th hour (11 a.m.) ceremony. The parade will start around noon. Military vehicles and equipment, veterans organizations, and civic and corporate displays will be available for viewing at 9:30 a.m. and will be dismantled after the parade.
