This Former Army Paratrooper Is Now a Netflix Reality TV Star

There’s no doubt that Sharelle Rosado is a rising star. In just a few short years, she’s made an impact on the real estate business and even landed a reality TV show on Netflix.

“Selling Tampa“ follows Rosado and her all-female team at Allure Realty as they help clients buy and sell luxury waterfront homes. They specialize in brokering real estate transactions for clients that are especially high-profile, including athletes and entertainment professionals. But behind the glitz and glamour is a woman with humble beginnings.

Rosado joined the Army in 2007 at the age of 19 and quickly climbed the ranks, promoting to sergeant first class within eight years. She was stationed at the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, for most of her career.

“I purchased my first home when I got stationed in North Carolina in my early 20s, and I just enjoyed the process,” Rosado said. “At the time, the broker said that I’d make a great real estate agent – and that always stayed in the back of my head.”

It was after her second tour in Afghanistan that Rosado relocated to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. As she began the process of medically retiring from the military, she knew it was time to embark on her own career in real estate. She says she instantly loved the thrill of helping someone find their dream home.

“This is the biggest investment they’re going to make, so being able to accomplish that is huge.” But it was more than a side hustle, Rosado proved to be exceptionally good at it. “I was actually making more money than I was in the military,” Rosado added. “I just knew it was for me.” In 2019, she officially retired from the Army after more than a decade of service.

Shortly after, Rosado felt it was time to be her own boss and start a brokerage. She had developed relationships with several other female agents in the community who admired her go-getter attitude and were eager to work for her. Founded in 2019 (the same year she retired), Allure Realty was an instant success. It wasn’t long before reality TV producers were knocking at the door, but Rosado wanted to get it right. She didn’t like how producers were trying to portray the group.

“I thought, if we’re going to find a producer and take this role, let’s get the best real estate producer out there. At the time, ‘Selling Sunset’ was huge, so I reached out to Adam DiVello with a few pictures and it went from there.”

“Selling Tampa” debuted on Netflix in 2021, making way for even more growth and success at Allure Realty. The brokerage now has an office with a team of 10 agents in Miami, and future plans to expand into Charlotte, North Carolina. But Rosado also hopes to pay it forward.

“My goal is to teach and put out some master classes to help other people who want to get into real estate.”

For anyone hoping to follow in her footsteps, Rosado says confidence is key.

“With real estate, you have all different types of people. Some people have strong personalities and some people are easy going,” Rosado added. “Being in the military, you deal with all those different types of personalities and learn how to take care of their wants and needs.”

Rosado says it’s common for a lot of people to feel intimidated by the prospect of venturing off into something new.

“You become so adapted to the military lifestyle,” she explained. “Just go after your passion, go after your dreams. You were prepped by the military. Don’t let anything stop you.”

The debut season of “Selling Tampa” is available for streaming on Netflix.
