Solo Leveling has, unsurprisingly, been a huge hit ever since its first season dropped back in 2024. The series has only gotten more popular since, with the release of Season 2. Now, however, the series is at an impasse. Solo Leveling Season 3 has yet to even get a confirmation, and fans are reasonably concerned about the future of this series. With Solo Leveling Season 3 nowhere in sight, fans are looking at other great anime series to fill the gap, and Chinese anime might just be the place to look.
Lord of the Mysteriesis currently the biggest Chinese anime, and the reviews are absolutely amazing. Fans should definitely give this unique series a watch, even though it’s quite different from Solo Leveling.
Solo Leveling Is Great, But Chinese Anime Are Taking Over

Solo Leveling was all the hype for quite a while when Season 2 was airing. Its popularity was driven by the anime, but also by being fairly controversial, especially as the series won big at the Crunchyroll Awards 2025. In fact, the fact that Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year is so big that fans are still talking about it at the end of the year. Nevertheless, now, Solo Leveling has a shaky future, which worries many fans. There has been no word on Solo Leveling Season 3 as of late. At this rate, Solo Leveling season 3 might be greatly delayed. In the meantime, fans should check out Lord of the Mysteries, which has been getting Chinese anime on fans’ radar. Just like Solo Leveling was big for anime based on Korean manhwa, Lord of the Mysteries is big for Donghua.
Lord of the Mysteries is not that similar to Solo Leveling, but its hype is equally real. Its first season was widely acclaimed for its incredible animation and story. Its success was so big that its second season was already confirmed. Lord of the Mysteries Season 2 was confirmed for 2027, and fans definitely can’t wait for it. While Solo Leveling Season 3 takes its sweet time, fans can instead turn to Lord of the Mysteries. Even though they're different, fans will definitely find it to be a series worthy of sticking with.
