After 13 incredibly long years, 2026 finally seems poised to be the year that Grand Theft Auto 6 is released. After a series of delays for what is likely the biggest game of the generation, it's natural for fans to have tempered their expectations surrounding GTA 6's release. To this end, some fans are eager for Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, to share its quarterly earning reports for any hint about GTA 6's release status and if a third delay is imminent.

Like most publishers, Take-Two Interactive holds quarterly earnings calls to keep investors updated on the status of the games they have released and plan to release in the near future. Past Take-Two earnings calls have heralded both tragic delays and new GTA 6 trailers over the past couple years, so the upcoming February 3 call has a lot of fans' eyes on it. While this earnings call may not reveal too much information about GTA 6, it could definitely set the tone for the game's marketing cycle in 2026, so there is potential for important groundwork to be laid.

Past earnings calls for Take-Two indicate that this upcoming 2026 call could include reveal new details about the company's plans for GTA 6 in its launch year. Last year, GTA 6 trailer 2 was released following an earnings call in May, and the announcement of GTA 6's most recent delay to November 2026 came out of last November's earnings call. With this in mind, fans have a set of expectations for the upcoming earnings call since it is the first of the year that GTA 6 is supposed to launch in, and will likely reveal the direction Rockstar and Take-Two will be taking with the game in the months leading up to release.

Why the First Earnings Call of the Year Could Set the Tone for GTA 6 in 2026

The ideal reveal to come out of this February earnings call would be a new trailer to kick off a ramped-up marketing presence for GTA 6. Not only would this outcome give fans some new gameplay footage of GTA 6 to pour over, but it would likely cement the game's November 19, 2026 release date in the face of additional delay rumors. Even if a full-blown trailer doesn't follow this earnings call, the presence of GTA 6 in any capacity is likely a good sign that the game is on track to release this year.

Why GTA games won't go outside the United States

No GTA 6 News in February Doesn't Spell Disaster, But May is a Different Story

In the event that there isn't a new trailer show, Grand Theft Auto fans don't necessarily have to panic yet. There is a good chance that marketing for GTA 6 won't really start to ramp up until May, which would mark the one-year point from the last GTA 6 trailer's release date. If this May earnings call comes and goes without a significant marketing push for GTA 6, then fans may want to start worrying about a potential delay out of 2026.

This trailer showcased protagonist Lucia along with a revamped Vice City setting filled with references to the real-world Florida and the influencer culture GTA 6 looks to satirize.
