Publisher Annapurna Interactive had an exciting time at Tokyo Game Show 2025, revealing three new games that are currently planned to release in 2026. The publisher is known for releasing a variety of innovative indie games, previously seeing success with titles such as Stray, Gone Home, and Kentucky Route Zero. 2026 promises to be another jam-packed year for Annapurna, filled with everything from puzzles to RPGs to even a full-on musical, as the publisher intends to release D-Topia, People of Note, and Demi and the Fractured Dream.

Solve Puzzles And Keep Society Happy In D-Topia

Developed by Marumittu Games, D-Topia is a "gently-paced puzzle adventure" game set in a futuristic society where AI controls every aspect of life to keep the city's residents as happy as possible. Players will take on the role of a "Facilitator," whose job is to handle everyday problems that crop up. Along the way, players will be tasked with making decisions and forced to choose between options that benefit the individual and those that benefit the greatest number of people.

Developer Marumittu Games described D-Topia as a game that people can play when they want to relax after a long day of work. Neither fully a cozy game nor fully a science fiction game, D-Topia is, at its heart, a game about choices. "When life is utopia, how do we find happiness?" the game asks — a question that players can learn the answer to when D-Topia launches in 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Become A Star In People of Note

Iridium Games' People of Note is a turn-based RPG musical set in the City of Chordia, where pop music rules all. Musical rebel Cadence wants to win the Noteworthy Song Contest and finally become a star, but the city's top boy band/mercenary group, Smolder, constantly shuts down her attempts. Frustrated, Cadence decides to perform in a genre other than pop and begins seeking out other rebels who feel constrained by Chordia's strict genre limits.

People of Note features party-focused turn-based combat, in which players can perform a variety of genre-busting combined attacks as Cadence gathers more allies, puzzle-filled dungeons to traverse, and plenty of musical numbers. It is a story about determination, stardom, and the power of music, but it's also a fun, fast-paced game with combat inspired by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. People of Note is currently planned to launch in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Mend What's Been Broken In Demi and the Fractured Dream

The third Annapurna Interactive title announced at Tokyo Game Show is Yarn Owl's action adventure game Demi and the Fractured Dream. Players take on the role of Demi, who is tasked by mysterious voices in his head to travel through the realm of Somnus and defeat the Accursed Beasts lurking there. As players travel deep into this ancient world, they'll uncover secrets about the past and the truth of the gods themselves.

The team at Yarn Owl described Demi and the Fractured Dream as "a love letter to the classic action-adventure games of their childhood." The game will feature sword-based combat, platforming, dungeons to explore, bosses to fight, and a wide variety of tricky puzzles to solve. All of this takes place in a beautiful, colorful world reminiscent of games like Tunicand the Legend of Zelda series. Like the other Annapurna games announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025, Demi and the Fractured Dream is scheduled to release sometime in 2026. It will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
