One of the biggest surprises Diablo 4 players can expect to see during the upcoming Season of Slaughter is a new IP collaboration with Doom: The Dark Ages. Developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, Doom: The Dark Ages was a stand-out shooter in 2025, getting a nomination for Best Action Game and taking home the award for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2025. Now, Diablo 4 players will get to outfit their character with a variety of cosmetics reminiscent of the Doom Slayer and iconic enemies from the Doom series when this collab launches on March 11.

Given that both IPs focus on slaying the demonic forces of Hell, it's not surprising to see the gritty world of Doom: The Dark Ages crossover with Diablo 4. Although Doom has an aesthetic that mixes technology with medieval fantasy and occult imagery, the cosmetics included in this collab still feel at home in Diablo 4, especially compared to more sci-fi franchises like StarCraft that Diablo 4 has also collaborated with. This Doom crossover also opens the door for future Diablo 4 collabs with other Bethesda IPs, some of which seem like perfect matches for Blizzard's dark fantasy ARPG.

Diablo 4 Season 12's Doom: The Dark Ages Collab Might Be the Best Yet

A major selling point of the Diablo 4 x Doom: The Dark Ages collab is the most expansive free Reliquary that the game has offered for an IP collab to date. Past Diablo 4 crossovers with franchises like Berserk and StarCraft were met with mixed reactions from players, since the majority of the cosmetics on offer were premium purchases with hefty price tags. Now, it feels like Blizzard has listened to fan feedback and worked to make this Doom collab more exciting for players who would rather not shell out for premium cosmetics.

Players can also claim free Doom-themed emblems in the Diablo 4 shop throughout the duration of the event, including "Dark Before the Dawn" on March 11, "Grandeur of the Gutted" on March 13, and "Rip and Tear" on March 15.

For players wanting the full Doom Slayer armor for their Diablo 4 character, they will need to purchase the premium skin from the Diablo 4 shop. However, players can earn a variety of free cosmetics based on the weapons of Doom: The Dark Ages, including the new Shield Saw weapon, through the free Reliquary that the game will be offering during this collab. Additionally, Diablo 4's Lair Bosses have the chance to drop certain Uniques with Doom Crucible transmogs to give players even more opportunities to participate in this Doom crossover event.

Other Bethesda Franchises Deserve to Crossover with Diablo 4

With Diablo 4 pulling out all the stops for this Doom: The Dark Ages collab, it would be a wasted opportunity if Doom were the only Bethesda IP that the game collaborated with. Bethesda has several franchises that would be perfect candidates for Diablo 4 collabs in the future, and the expansive nature of this Doom collab could be laying the foundation for Blizzard to expand its partnership with Bethesda for more Diablo 4 content.
