F-16 Crashes at Oshkosh Air Show

Share

Everyone went quiet, WLUK-TV Fox 11 reported, after an F-16 military jet overshot the end of a runway and crashed in the grass during the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, late last week. After flying with the Alabama Air National Guard, the F-16 landed at 11:00 a.m., but couldn't slow down enough to stop before the runway came to an end. The pilot was taken to a hospital, but walked away unharmed. While the main runway at EAA was shut down, the show continued as scheduled. Now, the Air Force is investigating the crash, which could have been caused by just about anything, from pilot error to a mechanical malfunction.
