The Fate of One American D-Day Flag

    On June 6th, 1944, three vessels were assigned to guide landing craft through underwater mines and obstacles to Utah Beach. Only one survived. The vessel’s commander carried LCC-60’s flag home. Seven decades later, that flag has found a new home.
