    Over the past century and a half, the United States government has occasionally relied upon a national draft to fill its military ranks. And while the U.S. military transitioned to an all-volunteer force in the mid-1970s, conscription laws still remain in place. Today, these draft laws may soon undergo a major reform to include women for the first time.
