Vot happened? -- This clip shows the Russian UAV Aist failing a flight test. Not sure what caused the failure. According to RIA Novosti, the Aist (AKA: Stork) from Vega could pack a payload of as much as 1,100 pounds. The UAV could be equipped with ISR equipment, devices to assist with electronic warfare as well as weaponry. The director of UAV development at the Vega Radio Engineering Corporation, Arkady Syroyezhko, stated his company is starting to test a prototype of an ISR drone, which would then be able to operate as a target designator for the Iskander missile system.
