Share

28 Aug 2014 - Tail number 2901, a MH-47G Chinook, took its first flight on Tuesday at Boeing's facility in Ridley Park, PA. 2901 is the first new Chinook ever to be built specifically for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) [SOAR (A)] and is the foundational building block for the next 60 years in the Chinook legacy. The MH-47G new build design is a monolithic-machined airframe with highly complex SOF unique modifications integrated that is the next step toward a Army and SOF common-core design.
