Al-Qaeda Vs. the File Traders

After over 70,000 blogs that used the blogging platform Blogetery.com were taken down on July 9th by their hosting company BurstNET, the file traders immediately blamed the shutdown on U.S. government efforts to crack down on Bittorrent file sharing.

While the Feds have declared their intention to crack down on online trading of those M.I.A. albums and Shutter Island DVDs, it turns out the government was after a bigger threat. One of the sites contained "a link to terrorist material, including bomb-making instructions and an al-Qaeda 'hit list.'"

No word yet as to what connection the other 69,999 blogs on the site had to global terrorism, but we're sure a statement will be issued soon.
