"I Think He's a Hero" - Interview with Jennifer Giunta

Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta became the first living recipient of the Medal of Honor in almost 40 years. It's the highest honor that can be bestowed on a member of the Armed Forces and, like we've said before, a very big deal.

Several weeks ago we posted a story about his wife, Jennifer, who he calls "his rock," and her comments on life as an Army spouse.

The Army this week released a new interview with Jennifer. In it, I see a woman with an adoration of her husband and an attitude about military life that I want to emulate. You can see the emotion of that past rough deployment written all over her face -- wow can I relate to that. Take a look.

Jennifer, your husband is an amazing hero who did an amazing thing -- thanks for being down to earth enough to note that while mine hasn't received a metal of honor and hasn't done anything quite as jaw-dropping as what yours did that day, he is a hero too.
