Whether you are moving across the country or up the coast, your vehicle is the PCS beast. It holds all of the stuff to help you survive the trip and sustain you for however long you are without your items, transports you and your family and is the source of entertainment for travel. The vehicle is also the jukebox -- and tunes can make or break a road trip.

Download these tunes or save songs on a playlist in preparation for your trip. It's a mix of rock-n-roll, country, pop and classical music -- the perfect way to break up your trip. Better yet, put a favorite song from the list below in Amazon, Pandora or Spotify and it will curate a list for you. How far we have come since the mixtape!

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey -- You won't stop believing that you will survive this trip with this song.

I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers -- When you have 500 or miles to go, this is the motivating song to keep you singing

Take It Easy by the Eagles -- The slow jams of the 70s is the perfect reminder to "take it easy" and "don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy" and that can happen if you are on the road for too long

Old Town Road by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus -- While you may not be riding your horse or tractor to get to your destination, sometimes you have to just "ride 'til [you[ can't no more"

Love Shack by the B-52s -- This 80s song is a great song to sing along with and generally jam to while you are driving to your "love getaway", er, new PCS location

Daydream Believer by The Monkees -- the quartet's song is another one to get you singing out in the car and daydreaming

Yakety Yak by The Coasters -- Does this song choice need any explanation? Don't talk back.

I'll Make A Man Out of You by Donny Osmond -- the Mulan soundtrack boasts this motivating song, and will hopefully help you get down to the business of having fun and building memories

Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd -- You don't need to be road tripping in the state to belt this one out, this is a song that once it plays everyone (who knows the words) has to sing.

Fortune Days by The Glitch Mob -- This electronic music transports the road trip to video game level, bonus points if you make rock this while navigating traffic cones or construction on the I-40 while listening to this song

Fishin' In the Dark by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band -- This easy-going song has an even beat and joyful verse that matches driving through where the green grass grows

We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel -- This one could be fun to have everyone listen to and try to say and remember everything that was said.

I've Been Everywhere by Johnny Cash -- Can't have a road trip list without Johnny Cash. While there are many covers, the original is amazing.

Let It Go by Idina Menzel -- this could be a plus or minus if you have heard it 108338937 times a day, but it's a great song for everyone to belt out in the car

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular from Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular -- Music from this 90s adventure film adds an epic level to any road trip and features snippets of songs from all the films

thank u, next by Vitamin C Quartet -- this cover was featured in Netflix's Bridgerton and showcases the versatility of strings

Meant to Be by Bebe Rexha featuring Florida Georgia Line -- A relaxing song that encourages you to "ride with me," and hopefully you to know "where this road is supposed to lead"

Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis -- Most military families know this song from Top Gun's soundtrack and it is another good one for singing out in the car

Pirates of the Caribbean by Hans Zimmer -- This swashbuckling classical music is energizing and fun, and if you have seen the film enough can bring up memories of the movie that may pass the time

Bridgerton Soundtrack by Kris Bowers -- Classical music is perfect for lowering stress levels if you are stuck in traffic or if you are trying to get little ones to sleep in the car

The bonus of all these songs is that there it can be listened to by all ears, and the variety of music should appeal to all tastes for everyone in the car. Happy trails!
