Applications will open Feb. 25 for the 2019 National Veterans Golden Age Games, scheduled to take place June 5-10 in Anchorage, Alaska. The top senior adaptive rehabilitation program in the U.S., it is also the only national multi-event sports and recreational seniors' competition program designed to improve the quality of life for all older veterans, including those with a wide range of abilities and disabilities, according to a Department of Veterans Affairs release. Veterans ages 55 and older who receive VA health care may apply. Registration will close once the cap is reached. Events include air pistol, air rifle, badminton, basketball, blind disc golf, boccia, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, nine-ball, pickleball, power walking, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, and track and field.
