Stephen Losey is a reporter for Military.com, focusing on Air warfare, the Pentagon, and investigations. He was previously the senior reporter for Air Force Times covering leadership and personnel issues, and regularly interviewed top officials including Air Force secretaries and chiefs of staff. In 2017, he traveled to the Middle East to cover Air Force operations against the Islamic State.
In 2020, his feature on the harrowing rescue of the future Air Force chief of staff after he was shot down over Serbia, "Start Finding Me, Boys," received an award from the Military Reporters and Editors association. His investigative journalism at his preceding paper, Federal Times, was also recognized several times by the Society of Professional Journalists and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
He attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, where he received bachelor's and master's degrees in English and creative nonfiction writing.
