Some decried the perceived hypocrisy of being hailed as heroes and then treated as a nuisance the next day.

The move prompted an outcry from some troops.

Beau Biden, who served in the Guard, is buried at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church cemetery in Greenville, Delaware.

Arrangements are being made for 15,000 of the 25,600 Guard soldiers and airmen in D.C. to return home over the next 10 days.
