Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU,) based out of Oceanside, California, offers early direct deposit as a benefit to its military members. Customers who are military members have their military pay posted two business days prior to the actual military payday.

As you can see, there are times when those two business days make a significant difference in the length of the pay period. For example, the second half of August 2017, the regular pay period is 17 days long and there are 19 days between the PMCU pay posting dates. It all works out over the course of the year, but it's good to be aware of these little differences.
PMCU is popular with Marines because of its relationship with the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) located in San Diego, California. Being on-base allows PMCU to give recruits a quick solution to their banking needs. After graduation, many Marines choose to continue banking with PMCU.
I'm a big fan of PMCU because they have always responded to my questions and concerns quickly and courteously. In my interactions with PMCU, I've always gotten the impression that they are genuinely working in their member's best interests.
The only downside I can see is that you must be residing in the San Diego area in order to join PMCU. They have several great products and I'd like to be able to use them, but I've never lived in San Diego so I've never been eligible to join. Boo! If you are stationed in San Diego, I'd recommended making the small investment in opening an account so that you'll be able to use their products if they ever fit your needs.
In particular, I would love to be able to save in their Military Savers Certificate of Deposit (CD.) It offers 3.00% interest on a one year term - much more than most other products available right now.
