Online registration for the 2013 Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry program will open at 1 pm Central Time today, Thursday, 29 August 2013. Applications will be taken on a first come, first serve basis and no more than 20,000 applications will be accepted. The computers usually jam up entirely during the Heroes at Home registration process, so be prepared for a little frustration.
This program is open to the active duty service members. Their information will be verified via the SCRA database.
Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry is a program where Sears solicits contributions from its customers, then distributes the proceeds to military families in the form of gift cards. The program is designed to help military families enjoy a bit of Christmas cheer. The Wish Registry is part of the larger Heroes at Home program, which also includes Rebuilding Together, a home improvement project. The Wish Registry has distributed over $18 Million Dollars to over 100,000 military families in six years.
