Sig Sauer Inc. is now offering a .300 Win Mag round in its high-performance, copper hunting ammunition.
"This accurate hunting round features an all-copper bullet that delivers deep penetration and consistent 1.8x diameter expansion," according to a recent Sig Sauer release.
The 165-grain, .300 Win Mag bullet has a muzzle velocity of 3,110 feet per second with muzzle energy of 3,543 foot pounds of energy, "making it an excellent choice for medium-sized game such as deer," the release states.
The new .300 Win Mag is part of the Newington, New Hampshire-based company's "line of SIG HT" ammunition.
"The .300 Win Mag is such a popular caliber with hunters, we wanted to add this round to our environmentally friendly SIG HT line," Bud Fini, executive vice president of the Sig Sauer Ammunition Division and Special Projects, said in the release.
"All SIG HT offerings feature our proprietary, high-performance all-copper bullet, which is now available in .300BLK, .223 Rem, .308 Win and .300 Win Mag loadings with additional chamberings to be added in the months ahead."
SIG HT cartridges are made with premium nickel-plated shell cases, as well as flash-reduced propellant to minimize visible signature while shooting in low-light situations, the release states. Premium-quality primers are also used to minimize variations in velocity.
The SIG HT ammunition is produced on state-of-the-art loading equipment with electromechanical monitoring for charge weight consistency and geometric conformity, according to the release.
All Sig Sauer Elite Performance Ammunition is manufactured by Sig Sauer at its new ammunition manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Arkansas, to the same exacting standards as the company's premium pistols and rifles, the release states.
