This week in the military, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin officially ordered the renaming of many U.S. military bases that once held the names of Confederate rebels; the U.S. Army cut women’s uniform allowances while marginally raising the allowance for men in the service; and the Department of Veterans Affairs Caregiver program has seen many shake-ups in the last year -- the latest marked a win for potential caregivers, allowing approved guardians to bring VA-supported care to pre-2001 veterans.
