A member of the U.S. military has died while deployed to the east African nation of Djibouti, the Pentagon announced Friday.
The death was described as a "non-combat related incident," officials said. The service member, who was not identified, died Thursday.

"The cause of death is under investigation," officials said in a release. "Further information will be released as appropriate."
Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti is the headquarters for Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, a unit created in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks as part of the Defense Department's Global War on Terror. Roughly 2,000 personnel are assigned to the command.
The service member's death in Djibouti comes a day after a soldier, Spc. Branden Kimball died in a non-combat incident at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. That death is also under investigation.
