Libya Complains About US Raid

Libya's prime minister has called for an explanation from Washington over a raid by US special forces in which an al Qaeda leader was snatched from his home in Tripoli. At the same time the man's outraged family condemned it as kidnapping. Abu Anas al-Liby is suspected of being behind the deadly 1998 US embassy attacks in Kenya and Tanzania. His family last saw him being dragged from his car by several men . The US says he has been lawfully detained. Abu Anas al-Liby's brother said it was an act of piracy by a foreign force to kidnap him. America should have submitted a document to the Libyan government and put him on trial in Libya. The raid in Libya was one of two operations conducted by US commandos on Saturday... The other in Somalia focused on the militant al Shabaab stronghold of Barawe. Even though the second mission failed to capture the leader of the group, US Secretary of State John Kerry who is in Bali to attend a meeting of Asian leaders, said the military action should be taken as a warning: Those members of al-Qaeda and other terrorist organisations literally can run but they can't hide. We will continue to try to bring people to justice,said Kerry.
