West Point Crash Kills One Cadet, Injures 22 Others

One cadet from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, was killed Thursday in a tactical vehicle accident, according to a West Point news release. Twenty other cadets and two soldiers were injured.

The accident, involving a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle, occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. near Route 293, the release states.

West Point officials have not released the name of the cadet killed in the crash.

The injured were transported to local hospitals, according to the release.

The accident is under investigation.

West Point is a four-year, co-educational, federal, liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City.
